Allerdings dürfte Gladstone dem merkwürdigen Special-Jury-Votes zum Opfer gefallen sein. Einen richtigen Dämpfer hat Barbie hinnehmen müssen, der noch in 15 Kategorien in der Longlist stand, aber letztlich nur in 5 Kategorien nominiert wurde, exklusive Film und Regie. Einen richtigen Boost hat die deutsche Schauspielerin Sandra Hüller erhalten, die doppelt Beachtung fand: Als Hauptdarstellerin für Anatomie eines Falls, der in weiteren 6 Kategorien Chancen auf BAFTA-Gold hat, als auch als Nebendarstellerin für ihre Darbietung in The Zone of Interest, der 9x Beachtung fand. Wie erartet hat The Holdovers richtig Luft wettgemacht und Dominic Sessa als Nebendarsteller nominiert, dessen Oscarnominierung ich seit Erstsichtung von vor ein paar Wochen vorausgesagt habe und es immer wahrscheinlicher wird, vor allem seitdem sich Mark Raffalo und Willem Dafoe sich gegenseitig die Stimmen klauen und bei den BAFTAS beide keine Berücksichtigung mehr bekommen haben.
